They have been in business since 1995 and have helped thousands of musicians find work.  You can search their database by preferred performance level and state (USA). Music Mates is a good source for those seeking music instructors or for those seeking bands, soloists, or studio musicans for hire.
 

Musicians Contact

Musicians Contact has job positions open to anyone in the industry seeking work or representation.  The site is free to those offering positions, but has varying membership fees for musicians seeking employment.  They have been in business for over 35 years and they represent thousands of bands, managers, and employers, and agents. Many of their clients are famous.

Book Live Music

A free site where you find and contact professional musicians, bands, and ensembles in the United States and Canada.  They have a large database that is updated dailiy featuring professional musicians and groups for most types of events.  A feature of this site is the advice they provide on booking live music, along with the audio samples they provide with each artist profile. You can see pictures of each act and listen to their audio samples online.

 

Musician's Classifieds

For musicians that are looking to join a band or bands looking for musicians.  No cost to either party. They also have listings of different music industry services and a resource directory too. They have more of an international focus than the other sites, which may have something to do with being based in Australia.

 

Music Industry Career Center

This site allows musicians to post resumes which can be searched by employers. The site is sponsored by reknowned music retailer Sweetwater.  An interesting feature about the site's search engine is that it lets employers search resumes by the musicians education level.

 

Performing Jobs

Fee based site for employers, free for performers. Has a powerful search engine and a career center where performers can find resource tools to manage their careers on line. An interesting feature of this site is their job alerts.  Whenever an employer posts a position that matches your search preferences, you are sent an e-mail notifying you of the position.

 

GigFinder

Another free site that allows musicians and bands to find and post ads for jobs and other employment opportunities.  GigFinder uses a unique easy to use forum format for their classified ad posts.  The forums are categorized into many specialized sections, that make it easy to find a particular niche or performer type.  For example: Bassists wanted/available, drummers, songwriters, producers, film scoreres, mastering houses, sound engineers, and much more. In addition they have an online store and weekly giveaways.

Resume repository site that allows music professionals to make their resumes available to hundreds of produces and production companies. Resumes can be scanned by employers looking for a particular skill set, through the use of their powerful search engine. Music professionals can apply for jobs that are posted on the jobs board.  They have online tools to assist in the creation of a resume and an e-mail notification feature that can e-mail you whenever a potential employer has viewed your resume.  Their are no charges to either employer or job seeker.

 

eLance

 Award winning freelance job site that allows freelancers to bid on contracts for a wide range of contract opportunities.  Although the site is used by contract professionals of all vocations, it is frequently used by musicians to find scoring work, songwriting work, and other music related, contract oriented work.
